Research Associate
We are looking to hire a dedicated candidate to fill an entry position of Research Associate. The candidate should have knowledge of tissue culture of mammalian cells, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, WB, and protein purification. Experience in these areas is a plus. Responsibilities of the individual will include maintenance of cell lines for multiple projects, maintaining the tissue culture laboratory, planning and executing screening experiments, production and purification of monoclonal antibodies as well as other general laboratory duties.
Attributes required include dependability, the ability to think analytically, the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, communication skills, the ability to work independently as well as being able to work within a team.
The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science in a biology or related field. No work experience required, though knowledge and/or lab work in monoclonal antibody development would be a plus. We are looking for individuals that are eager to learn and become a part of a rising biotech company in the state of Maryland.
Salary: Compensation commensurate with experience. All employees have healthcare benefits, 401k, and life insurance.
Scholarship Opportunity
Each year A&G awards one graduate student from the University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy, with a research scholarship. A&G will support all direct costs associated with the graduate student's yearly stipend plus supply costs (no overhead will be covered). The student will be mentored by a professor at the School of Pharmacy, but research work will be done at A&G facility.
